In 17th Match of Vivo IPL-10 2017 Rising Pune Supergiants defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 27 runs. Batting first RPS got a good start as their openers put up a 63 runs stand for first wicket in 7.4 overs. Ajinkya Rahane made 30 off 25 balls and Rahul Tripathi made 31 off 23 balls. Ms Dhoni and Steven Smith put up a 58 runs stand for 3rd wicket. Then they lost some quick wickets but in the end it was Manoj Tiwary who scored 27 off 11 balls and took the team’s total to 161 for the loss of 8 wickets.
Batting second Bangalore’s each batsman looked out of touch and eventually in the end they were short by 27 runs what their target to achieve was. Kohli made 28 runs off 19 balls and ABD made 29 off 30 balls. No one really looked in the groove of getting the total. Ben stokes picked up three crucial wickets at crucial junctures of the match.
Ben Stokes was named man of the match for his economical bowling effort to go with three important wickets. Congratulations to Rising Pune Supergiants for this victory.
