In 18th Match of Vivo IPL 2017 Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Delhi Daredevils by 4 wickets in an interesting encounter. Batting first Delhi started well as their openers give them a 53 runs start in 6.1 overs. Sam Billings made 21 off 17 and Sanju Samson scored 39 off 25. Once they both got out Karun Nair and Shreya Iyer put up a 43 runs stand for 3rd wicket. Karun Nair made 21 off 27 and Shreyas Iyer made 26 off 17 balls. But it was Rishab Pant’s 38 runs off 16 balls which took Delhi’s total to a fighting one.
Batting second Kolkata didn’t start well and they were on 21 for 3 in 2.5 overs. Then the duo of Yusuf Pathan and Manish Pandey came together and they both put up a 110 runs stand for 4th wicket and they have literally won the match for KKR. But the match went to last over where Manish Pandey held his nerves and won the match for his team sparing one ball.
Nathan Coulternile was named man of the match for his 3-22 which helps KKR restrict Delhi to 168 and they were able to win the match. Nevertheless Manish Pandey and Yusuf Pathan’s performances are not to be forgotten.
