In 49th match of Vivo IPL-9 Rising Pune
Supergiants defeated Delhi Daredevils by 19 runs with D/L method. Batting first
Delhi never got going and they kept losing wickets from start of the match. Except
Karun Nair none of the Delhi batsmen looked in form. Karu Nair alone made 41
runs off 43 balls and he was watching the wickets tumbling at the other end.
For Pune Supergiants Ashok Dinda and Adam Zampa picked up three wickets each
and restricted Delhi to 121 for 6 wickets in 20 overs. Batting second Usman
Khwaja and Ajinkya Rahane started steadily and made 31 runs in 3.4 overs. There
after Ajinkya Rahane picked up the pace and played some beautiful shorts to
reach to his individual score 42 runs off 36 balls. It was looking an easy
chase for RPS and then rain came down. It was so heavy that match was called
off and Pune was emerged as victorious by 19 runs by D/L method. Ashok Dinda
was named as man of the match for picking up crucial three wickets in the start
of Delhi innings.
