In 48th match Vivo IPL 2016 Royal Challengers
Banglore defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 9 wickets with another great innings
of Virat Kohli. Batting first KKR lost their in form batsman Robin Uthapa very
early in innings. Then there was a 76 runs partnership for the second wicket
between Gautam Gambhir and Manish Pandey which gave KKR a strong base to launch
in the end. Gautam Gambhir scored 51 rus off 34 balls and Manish Pandey made 50
runs off 35 balls. When they both were dismissed it looked KKR would lost the
play but quick fire 39 runs off 19 balls by Andre Russel took their score to 183
runs in their respective 20 overs. Batting second Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli
gave RCB a rollicking start of 71 runs in 7.3 overs. Once Chris Gayle was out
then AB Devillers came and he scored all over the ground and made this run
chase very easy. Chris Gayle scored 49 runs off 31 balls, Virat Kohli scored 75
runs off 51 balls and AB Devillers made 59 runs off 31 balls assuring RCB won
the match in 19th over by 9 wickets. Virat Kohli was named man of
the match for his brilliant batting display.
