Delhi Daredevils vs Gujarat Lions Match-23

In 23^rd Match of IPL 9 Gujarat Lion defeated Delhi Daredevils by 1 run. It was the first close encounter in Vivo IPL 2016. Batting first Gujarat off to a flyer and their openers made 112 runs for first wicket in just 10.3 overs. Dwayne Smith scored 53 off 30 and Brendon McCullum scored 60 off 36 balls. But then Delhi pulled it back to their way. After the two openers dismissed none of the batsmen get going and Gujarat were restricted to 172 for 6 in their 20 overs thanks to later contribution of 22 run in 13 balls by James Faulkner. Batting second Delhi were looking all guns down at middle of the innings when they were at 57 for 4 wickets in 10.4 overs. Then came Chris Morris. The right hander took Gujarat bowlers and hit them out of the park. He scored the a 17 balls 50 to bring back Delhi in the match. He didn’t stop there. He kept on hitting Gujarat bowler and brought the equation to 18 runs to win from last 12 balls. But then came the second hero of the match. Parveen Kumar bowled a gem of the overs of his life where he gave away only four runs and took one wicket leaving Delhi needed 14 runs of last over. In last over bravo conceded a boundary on first ball and that made it more interesting.  But Bravo is clever bowler and he bowled slower ones with good effects. Then the final ball drama began. Delhi needed 4 runs to win but they could only manage to sneak two runs and lost the match by 1 run. So close yet so far away. It was the real thrill of IPL and want to see more matches like this. Chris Morris named man of the match for his innings of 82 runs off 32 balls with 8 mighty sixes over the park.
