2nd Match IPL-10 RPS vs MI

In 2nd match of IPL 10 Rising Pune Supergiants defeated Mumbai Indians by 7 wickets with the help of brilliance of Steven Smith who scored 84 unbeaten runs in 54 balls. Batting first Mumbai Indians got rollicking start as their openers added 45 runs in 4.2 overs. Jos Butler scored 38 runs from 19 balls but then Imran Tahir got 3 quick wickets and sent Mumbai backward. But in the end Hardik Pandya played a gem of an innings and took his team’s total to 184 in 20 overs. Pandya scored 35 runs off 15 balls with 4 sixes over the ropes.

Batting second Rising Pune Supergiant lost their opener Mayank Aggarwal very cheaply for 6 runs. Then came Steven Smith and he put up a 58 runs stand with Ajinkya Rahane who scored 60 runs off 34 balls. When Rahane was out caught in the deep Ben stokes came and he made 21 runs off 14 balls. But the show was stolen by Steven Smith who in end overs scored freely and made 84 unbeaten runs from 54 balls and saw his team over the line.

The turning point of the match was sloppy fielding by Mumbai fielders. They dropped few catches at very crucial junctures. If any one of them had been taken the result could have been anything else. Nevertheless Congrats to RPS and hard luck to Mumbai. Hope they will come with a bang in next encounter.
