In 13th Match of IPL-2017 Gujarat Lions defeated Rising Pune Supergiants by 7 wickets. Batting first Pune lost their opener Rahane for duck. Then there was a 64 runs partnership between Rahul Tripathi and Steven Smith. Tripathi made 33 runs off 17 balls and Smith scored 43 off 28 balls. In later parts of the innings Andrew Tye bowled really well to restrict Pune to 171 runs by picking up 5 wickets.
Batting second Gujarat off to a flyer as their openers Dwayne Smith and Brendon McCullum scored 94 runs for first wicket. Dwayne Smith made 47 off 30 balls and McCullum scored 49 runs off 32 balls. After these two departs Suresh Raina and Aaron Finch took over the command and saw their team over the line in 18 overs. Raina scored 35 off 22 and Finch made 33 off 19 balls.
Andrew Tye was named man of the match for his good bowling in death overs where he picked up hattrick and restricted Pune from reaching a bigger total than 171.
