In second qualifier/eliminator match of Vivo IPL-9,
Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Gujarat Lions by 4 wickets in a thrilling match.
Batting first Gujarat didn’t start well as they lost their first two wickets
for 19 runs in 3.2 overs. Then Dinesh Kartik and Brendon McCullum put up a 44
runs stand for the third wicket. Brendon McCullum scored slow 32 runs of 29
balls and Dinesh Kartik made 26 runs off 19 balls. Gujarat were 83 for 5 in
12.4 overs but in late overs Aaron Finch, Ravindra Jadeja and Dwayne Bravo
scored quick runs to take their team’s total to 162 runs for the loss of 7
wickets in 20 overs. Aaron Finch scored 50 runs off 32 balls. Bravo made 20
runs off 10 balls. Batting second Sunrisers Hyderabad kept losing wickets on
regular basis. But David Warner was still at the other end fighting for his
team. No one could stay at the crease with him untill Bipul Sharma did. He
scored 27 unbeaten runs off 11 balls but the man of the moment was David Warner
who scored unbeaten 93 runs off 58 balls and took his team over the line. David
Warner was named man of the match and now Sunrisers will fight with RCB in the
finals for the IPL-9 trophy. Hope we will see a cracker of the match with nail
biting last ball finish.
