In 16th match of IPL 9 Royal Challengers Banglore
defeated Rising Pune Super Giants with 13 runs. It was a bit closer encounter. Batting
first Royal Challengers Opener and Captain Virat Kohli played a good innings and
one down batsman AB Devilliers gave his good company. They both hit balls out
of the park at wish and Pune bowlers couldn’t do much about them both. One was
hitting with power and other with elegance. It was a treat to watch them both
batting together. Kohli made 80 runs off 63 balls and AB De Villiers made 83 of
46 balls and they both put a partnership of 155 runs for the second wicket.
They set a total of 186 to chase for Pune supergiants and they were set back
with two quick wickets in second innings and Kevin Peterson being retired hurt
made the situation even more tuff for upcoming batsmen. But Ajinkya Rahane and
Skipper MS Dhoni made some valuable contribution and took their team close to
the total. Then Thisara Parera and Rajat Bhatia’s quick fire brought them in
the match and they were looking to win it comprehensively. Then the collapse
beat took over and with some good bowling in the death Banglore managed to
sneak through by 13 runs. It was getting interesting when Parera and Bhatia
were batting but after they were dismissed it was none to take over the command
and Pune fell short of 13 runs. ABD was emerged as man of the match for his brilliant knock of
83 runs.
