In 21st match of Vivo IPL 9 2016 Mumbai Indians
defeated Kings XI Punjab by 25 runs. The start was great for Punjab as they got
captain of Mumbai for a duck on second ball of first over. But luck is not
favoring them as they allowed Parthiv Patel and Ambati Raydu put up a 137 runs
second wicket partnership. This set the platform for upcoming batsmen and they
capitalized on it. Parthiv Patel scored 81 runs off 58 balls and Ambati Raydu
scored 65 off 37 balls and gave Mumbai a solid total to defend against Punjab
batting. Batting second Punjab started steadily but then they lost two wickets
by the end of 5th overs and their score was under 40. Then a 89 runs
stand between Shaun Marsh and Glenn Maxwell brought them back in the match. But
as soon as they both were dismissed for 45 and 56 respectively things turned Mumbai’s
way and they didn't let it go off. They tightened the screws at Punjab batsmen
and restrict them to 164. Later flourish of 30 runs off 17 balls by David
Miller was not enough to take them over the line and Punjab once again ended up
