Kings XI Punjab vs Kolkata Knight Riders 13th match

In 13^th match of IPL 9 KKR defeated KXIP by 6 wickets chasing 139 17.1 overs. Punjab back to losing way. It is the case from last eight IPL tournaments that Punjab always stay at the bottom except of first two editions. Punjab batting never got going and they kept losing wickets in regular intervals and managed only 138 runs in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Shaun Marsh alone played well but none of the other batsmen gave him company. He remained unbeaten on 56 runs of 41 balls. Second best contribution came from Murali Vijay at top of the order. He made 26 runs off 22 balls. KKR bowlers kept it tight throughout the innings. Chasing the total of 139 runs KKR off to a flier and openers made 82 runs stand for first wicket partnership and made it easy for rest of the team. Things were started going bad for KKR as they lost 4 wickets in quick time but thanks to Yusuf Pathan and Suryakumar Yadav who held their nerves and took their team over the line in 17.1 overs. Robin Utthapa named as man of the match for his blistering innings of 53 runs off just 28 balls. Again one sided contest and still to see a last ball finish in this years IPL. Stay tuned…..
