In a thrilling match of VIVO IPL-9 between Rising Pune Supergiants and Kings XI Punjab, RPS defeated Punjab by 4 wickets. Batting first Punjab started well as their openers put up a 60 runs partnership for first wicket. Hashim Amla scored 30 runs 27 balls and Murali Vijay scored 59 runs of 41 balls. Then it was Gurkeerat Singh Maan’s turn and he scored 50 runs off 30 balls but in the end Pune tightened the screws and restrict Punjab to 172 runs. Once they were looking at 200 plus. Ravichandran Ashwin bowled well and picked up 4 wickets in his 4 overs and gave away 34 runs. Batting second Pune top order batsmen played well but in middle order some players played very slow.
