The Finals- Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Royal Challengers Banglore


In the final match of VIVO IPL 9 2016 Sunrisers lifeted the cup yesterday night by beating Royal Challengers Bangalore by 8 runs in a high scoring game. Batting first Sunrisers Hyderabad started very well as their openers put up a 63 runs stand for the first wicket partnership. That set the platform for upcoming batters to launch briskly at the Royal Challengers. David Warner scored 69 runs off just 38 balls and put his team in commanding position. But Bangalore made a big come back by picking up regular wickets in later innings. But Ben Cutting played a gem of a innings of 39 runs off just 15 balls and took the total of Sunrisers past 200. They set a total of 209 to chase for Bangalore. Batting second Chris Gayle thunderstorm came and it was looking at RCB would easily win the match when RCB openers Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle put up a 114 runs partnership in just 10.3 overs. Gayle scored 76 runs off 38 balls. In 11 th overs Gayle was out to Ben Cutting. Virat Kohli scored 54 off 35 balls and the equation was so simple for RCB to win that they could have win the match 9 out of 10 times from that situation. But Sunrisers Bowlers didn’t let anyone score runs after those openers. AB Devillers failed and so as Shane Watson. They were restricted to 200 runs and fell short by 8 runs of given total. Just like that the one of the craziest final ever ended and Sunrisers Lifeted the Cup. Ben Cutting was named man of the match as his innings made the difference in the score of Hyderabad and also he picked up two crucial wickets including Chris Gayle. Virat Kohli was named man of the series.
